Three towns on
two rivers

Red Bank sits on the Navesink River, with Shrewsbury directly south of it on Route 35 and Rumson across the river to the east, on the peninsula between the Navesink and the Shrewsbury River. For a wedding they behave like one patch: the same Parkway exit, the same drive from Staten Island, and the same residential streets that decide what time the music stops.

Here we work Shadowbrook at Shrewsbury, Oyster Point in Red Bank and Salt Creek Grille in Rumson. Shadowbrook is the one we have written up in full; the other two we work without having written them up yet, and we'll tell you plainly what each one needs.

That matters to you for one practical reason. A DJ who has never been in your room is solving it for the first time on your wedding day. Where the booth goes, whether the ceiling will take uplighting, which wall the sound bounces off, how long the load-in really takes, where the ceremony audio has to live — those are answers worth having before the date rather than on it.

Getting here from
Staten Island

From the Outerbridge Crossing it is Route 440 to the Garden State Parkway, then south to Exit 109, the Red Bank exit. Newman Springs Road runs east from the exit into town; Shrewsbury is a few minutes further south on Route 35, and Shadowbrook sits at 1 Obre Place, just off Route 35. Rumson is reached across the river from Red Bank along Rumson Road. Long Branch is further down the same coast, where Route 36 meets the ocean, and it works on the same drive. Most of this corner of the county sits in the middle of our thirty-to-fifty-minute Monmouth range; we plan the drive rather than assume it, with margin built back from your ceremony time.

Shadowbrook's Grand Ballroom is a different scale

The Grand Ballroom at Shadowbrook was added in 2019 with thirty-foot ceilings and holds up to six hundred, under crystal chandeliers, beside a Newport-inspired fireplace, with dueling grand staircases for the entrance. Both numbers change what we bring. Uplighting is specified by throw — a fixture that washes a ten-foot wall puts a bright puddle on the bottom third of a thirty-foot one — so the fixtures are chosen for the height of that room. And six hundred guests need distributed sound rather than one loud stack at the front, so the back tables hear the toast at the same time and the same level as the front.

The smaller rooms need a smaller system

Shadowbrook's Oak Room, with its beamed ceiling and panelled walls, and the Regency Room are warmer, tighter rooms, and much less forgiving of a system that is too big for them. Salt Creek Grille is a restaurant. Those need genuinely different rigs from the Grand Ballroom, and uplighting counted for the smallest of them is invisible in the largest. We quote to the actual room rather than to a package, which is why the first thing we ask is which room you are holding.

Gardens, a lake, and the neighbours

Shadowbrook's eighteen acres hold formal gardens, a pergola and a small lake, and a ceremony out there is its own build — no walls to reflect off, wind to fight, and an officiant who still has to be heard in the back row — so it gets its own speakers and its own operator. Red Bank, Rumson and Shrewsbury are residential towns, and several rooms around here have a hard stop. We confirm the curfew with the venue in writing before the timeline is built, so the last set is designed around the real end time rather than cut off mid-song.

The Red Bank rooms
we've written up

Where we work a room often enough to have a real opinion about it, there's a page explaining how we set up and what the space actually needs:

Oyster Point in Red Bank and Salt Creek Grille in Rumson we work without having written them up yet. If your room is somewhere else on this side of the county — Little Silver, Fair Haven, Long Branch — ask anyway; tell us which room and we'll tell you what it needs. The wider county is on the Monmouth County wedding DJ page, and the full list of rooms we work is on the venues page.

On money: weddings start at $2,995 and everything is quoted per event, with travel inside the number from the start. What moves it here is the scale of the room — six hundred under thirty-foot ceilings is a different rig from a panelled room or a restaurant — and whether a garden ceremony needs its own system. There's a fuller breakdown on what a wedding DJ costs.

Questions couples ask

Do you work weddings in Red Bank?

Yes. We work Shadowbrook at Shrewsbury, Oyster Point in Red Bank and Salt Creek Grille in Rumson, and we cover Little Silver, Fair Haven and the rest of the Navesink side of the county. Tell us which room and we'll tell you what it needs.

You're based in Staten Island. Is Red Bank a problem?

No. Red Bank is Parkway Exit 109, in the middle of our thirty-to-fifty-minute Monmouth range. We load in early, and travel is built into the quote up front rather than added later.

How much does a wedding DJ cost in Red Bank?

Weddings start at $2,995, quoted per event, with travel built in up front. What moves the figure here is the size of the room — Shadowbrook's Grand Ballroom holds six hundred under thirty-foot ceilings and needs fixtures and sound specified for that, while the Oak Room, the Regency Room and a restaurant like Salt Creek Grille need a smaller, tighter system. For market context, full-service wedding DJs across New York and New Jersey generally run $1,500 to $5,000. There is a fuller breakdown on what a wedding DJ costs.

Can you cover a garden ceremony and the ballroom at Shadowbrook?

Yes, with separate systems. Outdoor ceremony sound and indoor reception sound are different problems and we bring gear for both.

Does our Red Bank venue have a sound curfew?

Several rooms around Red Bank, Rumson and Shrewsbury do, particularly the ones with residential neighbours. We confirm it with the venue in writing before the timeline is built, so the last hour is planned around it rather than cut short on the night.

Are cold sparklers allowed at Red Bank venues?

It's the venue's decision and it varies room to room. We ask them in writing and confirm before it goes in your proposal, never after.
